Soltilo Bright Stars Football Club and Arua Hill Sports Club failed to shake the net as both teams face off in the Star Times Uganda Premier League on Friday.10th. December. 2021 at the Kavumba Recreation Ground, Wakiso.
Both teams had big scoring chances but in the end had to settle for a point each from a hard-fought encounter.
Bright Stars came into the game desperate for their second season win but it were the visitors who attempted first to find the back of the net.
In the 5th minute, Soltilo Bright Stars goalkeeper pulled off a descent save; taking the ball into a corner kick to deny Arua Hill a goal from a Rashid Toha free kick effort.
Moments later Andy Kyambadde was in the right place at the right time to block and deny the visitors another chance on goal, block a Samuel Ssekamate effort in the 25th minute.
Bright Stars first real attempt on goal came in the 28th minute of the game however, Nelson Ssenkatuka failed to finish off a Jungu cross from close range.
Three minutes later, Ssenkatuka missed another big chance to put his team forward. In the 28th minute, he was found by Janjali with a beautiful through ball but Arua Hill goalkeeper Omedwa dealt the former’s strike decisively.
Ssenkatuka found himself in another scoring opportunity moment after beating off his marker in Toha but was again denied by Odemwa.
Upon return from the break, it was again another moment between Ssenkatuka and Omwedwa with the latter sending Ssenkatuka’s effort out for a corner in the 48th minute.
Many more chances continued to fall Bright Stars’ way through Ssenkatuka, Janjali, Loki and Jungu but the lack of sharpness in front of goal cost them.
After containing the the pressure, Arua Hill also got a golden chance to find goal but the effort on target by Alfred Leku was brilliantly saved by Tamale.
At full time, it was 0-0 with Arua Hill SC picking up vital away point from Soltilo Bright Stars FC.
The results didn’t change much for Bright Stars on the table as they remain 3rd (14th) from bottom with only 6 points.
For Arua Hill, they are now 7th with 14 points.
