Juma Balinya could have been the star attraction in the Star Times Uganda Premier League between Police Football Club and KCCA Football Club but the response from the latter stole the show at the MTN- Phillip Omondi Stadium after three goals from Davis Kasirye, Charles Lwanga and Mato all cancelled Balinya’s and secured a 3-1 win that keeps KCCA FC top of the Star Times Uganda Premier Table.

Balinya scored a quick first half goal in the 5th minute from the penalty spot after Tonny Mawejje had been fouled in side the area.

However, Morley Bwekwaso’s troops recovered so quickly to level terms in the 12th minute through Kasirye.

The equalizing goal fueled KCCA FC into great more possession and domination leading to the second goal.

The hosts took the lead in the 25th minute through Lwanga; calling from the stands a special occasion for the fans to celebrate another much anticipated win.

Police who came in this game in search of their first win this season had an opportunity to level terms but Yusuf Ssozi at close range failed to connect with a Duncan Sseninde cross from a free kick.

To try and get back to terms, Abdullah Mubiru went for some changes bringing on Herman Wasswa, Emmanuel Mugume and Mawejje Muwadda for Brian Muluuli, Juma Balinya and Ruben Kimera respectively in the 48th minute.

The changes made for Police only managed to prevent more damage but in the late minutes of the game, Police FC back line gave way to KCCA FC third goal of the evening.

Mato for his name into the scorers’ book with the eventual match winner in the 87th minute.

In a comfortable fashion, KCCA FC’s 3-1 win over Police FC will continue to fuel the belief that the team can go all the way not only to challenge the title this season but win it too.
