In October this year, Kampala 3rdDivision League outfit Impala Hill Football Club; formerly Super Heroes United Football Club unveiled a new technical team under the stewardship of Allan Kabonge.
The Mulago based team that will be playing its home games at the home of a number of legendary players, Mulago Hospital Play Ground, Mulago besides spending awesome cash on assembling an experienced coaching staff also spent lots of money on players as they prepared for the start of the Kampala 3rd Division League which is slated to kick off on Sunday. 12th. December. 2021.
With such expenditure, the medium to long-term plan of Impala Hill FC has now become much clearer that the team is ready to fight for promotion to the Big League next season as well as looking at getting into the top flight league soon.
A good number of players were brought in including experienced players in the likes of Andrew Kalule formerly with BUL Football Club; Rashid Katoito Kawuma a former SC Villa and Katwe United Football Club player; Solomon Wafula formerly Proline Football Club, Masavu Football Club, Aurum Roses Football Club and Katwe United FC ; Walter Omara once a player of Pader Black Angles Football Club, Kira Young Football Club and Kamada Zlatan Lubega among others; bring the league stage know-how and will provide the necessary leadership.
Internally, the coming of Kabonge who has a good record when it comes to aiding teams to get promoted from the Big League to the Uganda Premier League is the clearest indication there is a lot of belief that the team will get the success envisioned in its strategic plan.
According to Kabonge, he believes that the target of the team qualifying for the Star Time Big League is a realistic one and at personal level, he is ready to guide his team to this season’s target and glory.
“I am the football messiah. The club has recruited well and we are optimistic that we shall overcome this huddle and get to the second top most flight division,” Kabonge said on the day he was unveiled as Head Coach.
“I have a great squad and so, nothing is impossible. Our aim is to achieve success,” he added.
Kabonge will be assisted by former Uganda Cranes Internationals Derrick Walulya and Hamza Muwonge as Assistant Head Coach and Goalkeeping Coach respectively; all under the close supervision of Pius Kadapao as Technical Director.
When assessing players assembled by Impala Hill FC, it is evident that the players brought on board possess the “aggressiveness” that a team looking for promotion would love to play with.
In the heart of midfeild, Wafula will be the leader and highlight in that department with the support of Eddy Masembe while Martin Nsubuga Nabutoono will lead the search for goals.
The above key departmental players and the experienced players will be backed up by the young lads in Eric Kigozi, Gerald Tumwesigye and Joshua Kazoora among others.
After a very long period without league action, the Impala Hill FC look to start the season on a high note.
