Hariss International Limited through one of it’s brands, Rock Boom an energy drink have come on board as the latest sponsor for the FUFA DRUM Football Tournament.

The annual national wide football tournament was started by the national football governing body in 2018 under the theme of “Celebrating Ancestry” and runs every year.

It is competed amongst all the provinces that make up Uganda and on Tuesday. 04th. April. 2023, it witnessed another milestone with the coming on board of Rock Boom; joining the list of sponsors for the next edition.

The deal that will run for one year under renewable terms worth Uganda Shillings 120 million was announced at a press conference held at Harris International head offices in Kawempe, along Bombo Road.

While speaking at the presser, FUFA President Hon. Eng. Moses Magogo Hassim was delighted with the development, saying that it will contribute greatly to the efforts of promoting football in all regions of the country.

“Our vision is to become the number one footballing nation in Africa; on and off the field and we can only achieve this by Promoting, developing and protecting the game and the FUFA Drum is one of the avenues we use to promote football,” Magogo said.

“We are glad to have Rock Boom on board as partners of the FUFA Drum.This partnership will help us to promote football across the country.

“This is a tournament that touches everyone regardless of tribe, race, gender or background,” he added.

Rogers Byamukama, the Chairman of the FUFA Drum Committee sighted at the event the growth the tournament has achieved since it’s inception and explained it’s the main reason why it has continued to levels of attracting more corporate institutions.

“It is important to have a platform that brands like Rock Boom can embrace to ensure that we keep promoting football in this country,” Byamukama said.

“We are happy to have Rock Boom as our associate and we believe it will get value for money.

Mahmoud Seblini, the Senior Sales and Marketing Operations Manager, Hariss International noted that they have being following the tournament for a while and hopes that this partnership will offer more energy.

“Our slogan as Rock Boom is; Feel the positive energy. We believe this partnership will help in pushing the FUFA Drum to greater heights and also add on the excitement in it,” Mahmoud Seblini noted.

The FUFA Drum is competed amongst the 16 provinces that make up Uganda which include among others; Buganda, Kigezi, Tooro, Ankole, Busoga, Teso, Lango, Acholi, Bukedi, West Nile, Sebei, Karamoja, Kitara,Kampala, Bunyoro and Bugisu.

The tournament was first won by Buganda in 2018 and then Acholi in 2019.

The current reigning champions are West Nile. They beat Lango 3-2 on aggregate.
