Government Commissions 31km Road In Otuke

Government commissions 31Km road stretch in Otuke district.

The government of Uganda has finally commissioned the rehabilitation of 31 kilometer road stretching from Agweng Sub County to Bar-alegi State Lodge in Okwang Sub County, Otuke District.

While commissioning the project on Wednesday 22, Minister Works and Transport Gen. Edward Katumba Wamala notes that the road work will be in phase manner.

According to Katumba, the first phase will see 16KM undertaken due to limited resource envelopes.

He calls for cooperation from both residents of Okwang Sub County and local leaders during the time that the work is going on so that the project is to go on well and benefits Community.

The area Member of Parliament for Otuke Constituency Hon Paul Omara appreciated Minister Gen Katumba Wamala for accepting to go and commission the rehabilitation of the road that leads to President’s home.

Mr Omara said the road work if completed will go a long way in improving the life of Residents and increases Production in Otuke and neighboring District.

Hon Omara Paul however express disappointment on his colleague Woman MP Susan Abeja for for her contentious fighting on developmental projects that he always lobbied for the people of Otuke Constituency.

Omara Paul who is also the Chairperson District roads Committee in Otuke District revealed that the comnittee has okayed work on 24 roads in the district totalling to 195 Kilometers this financial year using the one billion shillings that was recently given to all District across the Country.
