The fourth edition of the Innovation Series has received a shs50 million sponsorship boost officials have said.
Sponsors for the fourth edition of Innovation Series include; Roke Telkom, Golf Course Hotel, Total Uganda, Sanlam, Garage Group, DVI, Seamless Events, Vacker, Quicket, Radio City, Aka Dope and Fireworks Advertising.
Announcing the boost, Walter Wafula, the Business Unit Head at brainchild BCW said that the company was happy to welcome on board the various partners and sponsors that have committed to the event.
“Together, this year, our partners have contributed Shs. 130 million to support Innovation Series in a bid to promote the spirit of innovation in Uganda,” he said.
“Hosting such thought leadership events requires enormous human and financial resources. This is why we on-board partners like Roke Telkom, Golf Course Hotel and Total.”
This year’s Innovation Series will be held on October 31 at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala under the theme, “Fast-tracking infrastructure project completion through innovation.”
According to Alexander Bazirake, the Corporate Relations Manager at Roke Telkom, the innovation series provide a platform to address crucial issues that revolve around new and innovative ways of conducting business.
“Today, global telecommunications providers are talking 5G wireless services and Artificial intelligence in areas like Civil and Construction engineering around new innovation supporting smart materials with structural health monitoring, self-repair materials, waste management, concrete mix designs, modular construction Decision making, Robot Fleet Management systems among many other ICT enabled and supported capabilities,”Bazirake said.
Speaking on behalf of Total Uganda, Sheila Tusiime Mugisha, the Head Corporate Communications said that all infrastructure projects around the country require support from the oil and gas industry noting that their influence in the sector comes in handy.
“The oil and gas as sector has an infrastructure of its own including, mining and processing plants, and pipelines among other things. In order to deliver on timely production and transportation, the right innovative methods have to be deployed in order to achieve results expected by the ever-growing demand,” Tusiime said.
The panellists on this year’s innovation series will include Eng. Andrew Kitaka, the KCCA Executive Director, Paula Coetzee – Manager, Energy and Infrastructure, Corporate & Investment Banking at Stanbic Bank and Helena McLeod, the Team Leader at Cities & Infrastructure for Growth.
Others are Timothy Musoke, the Chief Technical Officer at Roke Telkom and Andrew Mwenda, the CEO at The Independent Magazin
