For the first time since Lt. General Kainerugaba Muhoozi started his relentless birthday treats, President Museveni has given his remarks.
Since the 24th of April, the date the first son was born, he has been celebrating his birthday by staging it in different venues. The celebrations kick-started at Kololo Ceremonial ground on the 24th of April 2022 where the birthday run ended that morning. In the evening, it transferred to Lugogo Cricket Oval where a huge Crowd partied with the birthday boy in attendance and other top officials.
The festival went to Rukungiri district west of Uganda the following weekend and the other weekend it was in Entebbe. The general with his entourage which he normally calls the “MK Team” announced that they will be taking the party to Northern Uganda.
In most of Mr. Muhoozi’s birthday speeches, he has subtly indicated that he is ready to take the reigns if the people of Uganda wish so. He has further indicated his intentions through his tweets.
Murmurs have been relayed from various detractors that Uganda is neither an Empire nor a monarchy where a son has to inherit the Father’s position. The birthday parties are under the disguise of declaring his presidential ambitions.
Other grieved people have criticized that the first son is wasting the taxpayers’ money yet the country is in some sort of economical crisis. His apologists have debunked these allegations saying that their man has been working for so long and has wealthy family and friends who can manage to throw him such parties.
One city lawyer has filed a case in the courts suing Muhoozi for getting involved in political activities yet he is still serving in the Army which is contrary to Uganda’s constitution.
Now after almost a month, His Father, President Museveni has commented on the precedents during his interview at Nakasero State Lodge with TRT World, a global media station. Mr. Tibuhaburwa said that his son is merely marking his birthday and people with good intentions are making it noteworthy.
The president of Uganda also disregarded the allegations that Muhoozi is biding for the hot seat. he said, ” Uganda belongs to Uganda, it does not belong to me or my family. it is for the citizens to decide.”
