The waiting for the new Rwandan beauty queen is finally over as today, Saturday of 22nd February, has marked off the grand finale of the Miss Rwanda 2020 at Intare Arena in a glamorous evening of Beauty, Brain and Culture.
Naomie Nishimwe was announced as the winner of the Miss Rwanda following s tough contest from the other 19 finalists.
Naomi was also crowned Miss Photogenic, making her a brand ambassador of Rwanda Bella Flowers.
On top of the crown, the new Miss Rwanda Naomie Nishimwe was also crowned Miss Photogenic that saw her walking away with Rwf1.2 million as cash prize from Rwanda Bella Flowers and becomes their brand ambassador as well as a brand new Suzuki Swift (model 2019), courtesy of @Rwandamotor. The car is worth Rwf18 millions.
Contestant Umwiza Phionah was crowned 1st runner up while Umutesi Denise was crowned 2nd runner up.
Other winners
Contestant Irasubiza Alliance was crowned Miss Popularity, Ingabire Diane was crowned Miss Congeniality after being voted as the friendliest contestant in the boot camp as determined by fellow contestants while Teta Ndenga Nicole was crowned miss Heritage.
Among the special guests included the reigning Miss Tanzania, Miss Ghana 2019 Rebecca Kwabi, Miss Ghana 2nd runner up Deborah Opoku, Miss South Sudan 2019 Mariah Maget Nyayiena, Miss Botswana 2019 Oweditse Phirinyane and Miss Uganda 2019 Olivia Nakakande.
Rwanda’s famous traditional dance troupe Inganzo Ngari and Female disk jockey Dj Ira lot up the evening with respective performances.
Til the finals, contestants had been going through a number of sessions including challenges to embrace critical thinking especially when it comes to the implementation of their projects and what they can do for the betterment of their country
