Tourism Stakeholders Roll Out SOPs In Accommodation Sector

The Ministry of Tourism in partnership with Uganda Uganda Tourism Board and Uganda Uganda Hotel Owners’ Association started the roll out for the hotel SOPs that were launched two weeks ago.

The roll out was led by the Hon Minister of State for Tourism Honorable Kiwanda and UHOA Chairlady Mrs Susan Muhwezi. In attendance were our partners at KCCA and Uganda Tourism Association – UTA.

They started at Protea Naguru, Skyz hotel and Mr Patrick Bitature welcome the team. Thereafter they proceeded to Golden Tulip Hotel and and they welcomed by Mukiibi the MD and thanked him for a warm welcome.

The roll out will be continued in other districts and many hotels outside Kampala. A team from the UTB Quality assurance team, UHOA and the press will however be visiting a few member hotels to show the public how the implemented measures in the SOPs to keep the staff and guests safe at the workplace.

This will instill hope and confidence in hotels and confirm that are now open for operation and mean business.
