With Namuwongo Blazers Basketball Club behind him now, Saidi Amisi promises to ‘give it my best’ with KIU Titans Basketball Club his new home in the FUBA National Basketball League.
Saidi also commly known as Carmero is ready for a new experience and hopes his experience will contribute big for his new pay masters as the 2023 season tips off.
“It’s a new experience for me but I am really coming in as a uniting factor in the winning team,” said the Congolese International.
“I have no pressure, I am going play basketball.I am going to do everything.
“I feel good to be part of KIU Titans,I am happy to have joined the team and I am already enjoying my stay here.
Saidi is just like two months old in the team but he says he is already feeling at home and enjoying his stay with the Kansanga based team.
“It took me a short while to make up with colleagues at the club and the relationship is beyond just being teammates,” noted Saidi.
“All the players and staff here are already my friends. Some we have met before, while others are new into my life and by the way, we are not just teammates,we are brothers.
“With the chemistry and bonding in the team, I am convinced that we are ready to do anything to the NBL finals this year.
“Winning the championship is our number one priority this year and every one in the team is well aware of that fact and we want to begin on the offset,” Saidi noted.
In Saidi Amisi, the KIU Titans got a very high profile player; a very good addition to a “super team” with an infusion of many good players in the likes of Collins Kasujja, Peter Obleng, Innocent Ochera, Brian Opio and Stanley Mugerwa among others and the fraternity now awaits to see if he will be able to carry the University side to honors this season.
Saidi and his former club Namuwongo Blazers almost stopped City Oilers Basketball Club’s NBL dominance last season.
They pushed the NBL records Champions all the way until the last game of the play offs but lost the final game seven with a two points difference (66-64); and the series, 4-3.
The 2023 NBL season kicks off on Sunday. 19th. March. 2023 and all eyes will be on what Saidi’s KIU can bring on table in terms of competition on the floor.
