NTV is set to fire 90% of their employees in the production department, according to a reliable source.
NTV Among those said to be affected include; Jacky Ssenyondo, Raymond Walusimbi, Sserwanga Peter, Ejur David and One Nicholas.
They are to be replaced by Buddies Productions, which is owned by J Kazoora. It will produce almost 10 of NTV’s.
Kazoora’s production Buddies is to be supplemented by other production houses including Phaz Motions managed by Phad mutumba, who is the husband of the creative director Xena Batarinza. Apparently Xena currently stays in Canada. It is from here that she manages the creative.
When we contacted NTV’s Human Resource manager, Solomon Muhirwa on phone he confirmed that they had secured the services of some production houses.
“Yes it is true we have secured the services of some production houses but that is not new. We have been running adverts calling for different production houses to apply since the year began. Those that went through are the companies that have been hired,” he said.
Pressed about the report that NTV is to fire 90% of its production team, Muhirwa said, “I don’t know whether we are to fire or not but perhaps the person who told you has enough details. You can go back to that person for more details otherwise; we haven’t made any communication relating to what you are talking about.”
It is not yet known whether this is part of Nation Media’s latest restructure but is known is, that Nation Media, which own the NTV brands closed down two radio stations and a TV station last week.
