I See an Easy Road Ahead, says MP Thomas Tayebwa

Ruhinda North MP, Thomas Tayebwa said Thursday that the 2021 race for his seat will be an easy contest given that the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) which he subscribes to has overcome all the challenges in his constituency.

“I think now this is going to be easier. Last time, we had very many challenges but the NRM has done a lot. Our task now will be explaining things NRM has done. We shall be moving together as NRM flag bearers to sell President Yoweri Museveni’s manifesto. There might be challenges of limited government but as a district we should prioritise and use the little we have. Government released money but when you move around, some roads are impassable. To my constituents; if you see a driver or anyone siphoning fuel, please report to the relevant authorities. They are the people frustrating government services,” he said after being duly nominated to contest as a candidate for the same seat in the forthcoming 2021 general election.

He was nominated Thursday at Mitooma District headquarters.

Before his nomination, Mr Tayebwa donated equipment to help in Covid-19 fight before assuring his constituents that all schools and places of worship in his constituency would be reopened.

“Today we have given out 200 temperature guns, 400 masks and face shields, 200 jerrycans of five Litresand 50 jerrycans of 20 litres anti-bacterial hand wash to schools, churches and mosques. Our aim is that no school, no place of worship should be closed in Ruhinda North because we don’t have or don’t follow the SOPs,” the MP said.

He appealed to head teachers in Mitooma to act exemplary to students in observing Ministry of Health guidelines in THE fight against Covid-19.
