Uganda COVID-19 Cases Rise to 33

The number of confirmed cases of people who have tested positive for the Corona Virus has increased to 33 in Uganda.

According to Dr. Ruth Aceng, the ministry of Health, out of the 206 samples done today at the Uganda Virus Research Institute in Entebbe, 3 samples tested positive of the covid-19.

The remaining 203 samples tested negative for the covid-19.

The Ministry of Health has gone further and given details of the confirmed people who have tested positive.

In a detailed statement issued by Dr Henry Mwebesa, the acting Director General of Health Services the victims are;

One female, a resident of Bunga in Kampala. She arrived from Dubai on 18th March 2021

A 26 year old Ugandan female, a resident of Mutungo, Kampala who arrived from United Kingdom on 20th March 2020.

A 10 year old Ugandan Male and resident of Kisubi who came from United Kingdom on 21st March 2020.

A 25 year old Ugandan female resident of Kungu, Najjera who arrived from United Kingdom on 20th, 2020.

A 59 year old Ugandan male, a resident of Kalangala who arrived from United States of America on March 21, 2020.

A 33 year old Ugandan male, resident of Naluvale, Wakiso District who arrived from Dubai on March 21.

A 24 year old Ugandan female, resident of Gayaza, Wakiso who arrived from United Kingdom on 20th March 202O.

Dr Mwebesa reported that a total of 1,001 people are under followup, 812 of these are under institutional quarantine while 189 are under self-quarantine.

He also added on that a total of 1,660 travelers who arrived from high risk countries have completed their 14 days of follow up and have been issued with certificates of completion of the mandatory quarantine.
